Inner Feminine Force

Inner Feminine Force

(Paula Allen, Decorate the Base, 1985.)

Drawing parallels between the craft of braiding and passementerie weaving with the solidarity and interconnectedness of female communities, this project highlights the power of collective resilience.

The outcome of this project is a series of tactile textile objects that symbolise and celebrate the enduring essence of feminine strength.

"Inner Feminine Force" is a project that explores the resilient and flexible nature of feminine strength, inspired by the Greenham Common Women's Peace Camp.

(Paula Allen, Encircling the Base , 1985.)

(Paula Allen, Reflect the Base Action, 11 December 1985).

Within this framework, the process of learning and experimenting with these textile-making techniques becomes a means of reconnecting with one’s inner feminine force. Through tactile engagement with these crafts, the project embodies the historical and emotional strength found in female solidarity.
